DESCRIPTION:
The GTL Barracuda Cutter is a short, robust, fluid activated, two bladed cutters. Each blade is fixed with two to three rows of carbide inserts insuring positive cutting action. The GTL Barracuda is offered in various OD sizes and each Size has the ability to develop more than ample torque required to cut the heaviest wall pipe within its cutting range.
Cutting with Coil & Positive Displacement Motors presents several Challenges, due to size, restrictions, and flow limitations. GTL has developed a unique cutting system which takes into accounts all these limitations and the GTL Barracuda Cutter is the main component of this new GTL BHA Cutting System.
APPLICATION:
The Barracuda Cutter is designed to cut inside production tubing, or to pass through completion related restrictions, such as nipple profiles inside the production tubing and cut or out the shoe into and cut the casing string. The GTL Barracuda Cutting blades are offered in a verity of cutting carbides styles & harnesses for different applications.
The Barracuda Cutter can be run on conventional Rotary Rigs or Coil Tubing Units with High Torque Low RPM Positive Displacement Motors (PDM). The GTL Barracuda is also an effective Under
Reamer, Section Mill or Tubing End Locator Tool, simply by changing the blade style, with the proper inserts for the application. Individual Barracuda Product Reports are available for each of these applications from GTL.
