GTL Intensifier
Download the PDF for technical specifications.
DESCRIPTION:
The GTL Intensifier is a robust, short fluid activated power unit. This tool is always run-in conjunction with one or a combination of the following GTL Primary Application Tools: Barracuda-Under Reamer, Barracuda- Cutter, Piranha-Cutter, Rhino-NR (Non-Rotating Centralizer), Rhino- ES (Expandable Stabilizer) and TPRT-Scraper.
Multiple Intensifiers may be used because the GTL Intensifier Power Unit creates only nominal back pressure forces on the PDM.
APPLICATION:
Although standard PDM’s produce sufficient forces for many applications using Coil Tubing, in other applications like cutting and milling additional forces above the PDM capabilities are required to effectively run the lower end on your standard BHA. The GTL Intensifier provides these forces as part of the GTL Cutting and Milling System.
The GTL Intensifiers are designed to be run in conjunction with the GTL Barracuda-Under Reamer, Barracuda-Cutter, Piranha-Cutter, Rhino-NR (None Rotating Centralizer), Rhino-ES (Expandable Stabilizer) and TPRT-Scraper.
ADVANTAGES:
The GTL Intensifier enhances the performance of the GTL Primary Application Tools, providing additional force where needed, and not normally achievable through the PDM.
• Exceptionally short tool
• Robust design
• Increased power without increasing BHA length
• Field serviceable
OPERATION:
The GTL Intensifier is a fluid activated tool, so pumping is not recommended while RIH. Each Intensifier piston in the BHA is either connected to another Intensifier piston, or directly connected to one of GTL’s primary application tool’s pistons, providing power to the GTL primary application tool blades. GTL Intensifiers are not required when running any of these tools on HWO or rotary rigs.
For suggested running (operating) guideline for the GTL Intensifier on a rotary rig or a coil tubing unit, contact you closest GTL representative.
